Overview
The Nitto ATP Finals is the ATP's flagship event and a cornerstone of the ATP Serves sustainability strategy. We aim to inspire on court and serve beyond it — this event is no different.
See below for sustainability initiatives at and around the season finale.
Nitto ATP Finals Torino Green Project

In 2023, Nitto, ATP, and the Federazione Italiana Tennis e Padel (FITP) teamed to launch the Nitto ATP Finals Torino Green Project, an environmental sustainability project in Turin, the event’s host city.
Thanks to a large donation from Nitto, the City of Turin planted a total of 50 trees in the vicinity of the Inalpi Arena and installed green roofs at four bus stops.
In 2024, the group continues to push the initiative to new heights.
Ahead of the start of the Nitto ATP Finals The Green Wall — a symbolic wall made of plants developed by Nitto and ATP/FITP — was installed in the Fan Village to represent the Torino Green Project.
After the tournament, The Green Wall will be relocated to the city of Torino, which is promoting the Nature Based Solution, a greening project in the city. The Green Wall is expected to reduce CO2 emissions and improve air quality.
This will be just the beginning for The Green Wall. For the months and years to come, the wall will continue to grow and flourish, serving as a symbol of the event and its partner’s sustainability efforts.
Nitto places ESG (Environment, Society and Governance) at the core of its management and is committed to solve social issues, while also creating economic value. Nitto is supporting environmental sustainability initiatives through its sponsorship of the Nitto ATP Finals, for which it is title partner.

Biodegradable Napkins

Under the project Nitto ATP Finals Torino Green Project, Nitto donated 6,000 paper napkins in 2023, and will donate 20,000 pieces in 2024. The napkins, made of Nitto's proprietary plastic-free compostable material (CAC non-woven fabric*), will be used in the Nitto VIP suite and the Fan Village Food Court at the Nitto ATP Finals to provide for a more sustainable experience for attendees of the season finale.
SmaGo Recycling Bins

These IoT-based recycling bins, which have been supplied since 2021 by Nitto, are efficient, especially where there is heavy foot traffic. They are powered by solar panels located on the top of the bins and use the newest technology to detect how full the bins are. Once the bins are full, the compactor compresses its contents, allowing them to store five to six times the actual waste of the same-sized bins.
Because the bins run on solar power and allow for garbage compression, this reduces the frequency of garbage truck pickups, making the bins more sustainable.
Electrified Tournament Vehicle Fleet

Lexus is a pioneer in electrification in the premium car industry, building towards a holistic sustainable mobility vision called Lexus Electrified. The brand’s comprehensive electrified portfolio includes Self-Charging Hybrid, Plug-In Hybrid, and All-Electric models.
The Official Automotive Partner of the Nitto ATP Finals, Lexus promote the use of such models. That also aligns with the ATP Tour’s climate ambitions under ATP Serves and UN Sports for Climate Action, which includes a Net Zero emissions target by 2040.
Lexus has set out its strategy for a new generation of all-electric vehicles, applying design principles and new technologies that will lead Lexus to becoming an all-electric Luxury Brand globally by 2035, and even earlier in Europe, by 2030 if market conditions allow.

In addition, FITP has partnered with Enovation Consulting, a sustainability in sport and strategic management agency, to support the development of a robust ESG framework, bolstered by a carbon footprint baseline, to be used to set reduction targets for the 2025 edition, as well as assisting in the development of the Nitto ATP Finals first sustainability report.
The framework covers Environmental, Social, and Governance pillars, with 12 action areas and 44 activities planned for 2024. It is aligned with international sports’ best practice, the ATP sustainability strategy and international standards for sustainable events.
