Zverev climbs to second in Live Race following Roland Garros triumph; Cobolli, Mensik make moves
Alexander Zverev has jumped one spot to second in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin after he clinched his first major title at Roland Garros on Sunday.
The 29-year-old defeated Flavio Cobolli in the championship match in Paris to join Boris Becker and Michael Stich as just the third German man to triumph at a Slam in the Open Era (since 1968).
With his breakthrough run, the German has further boosted his chances of qualifying for the Nitto ATP Finals. Zverev, a two-time champion at the prestigious year-end event, has climbed to 5,040 points. The 29-year-old trails race leader Jannik Sinner by 910 points but is 1,390 points ahead of third-placed Carlos Alcaraz, who missed Roland Garros due to injury. Sinner suffered a shock second-round exit to Juan Manuel Cerundolo in Paris.
Zverev is now 35-9 on the season, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index. He is the third man born in 1990s to win a major title, joining 2020 US Open champion Dominic Thiem and 2021 US Open winner Daniil Medvedev.

Flavio Cobolli and Jakub Mensik will both try to make their debuts in Turin in November and have jumped into the Top 8 following standout showings in Paris.
Cobolli is up eight places to fourth on 2,620 points after he became the third Italian man since 2021 to reach a major final. The 24-year-old defeated seeds Felix Auger-Aliassime and Learner Tien to join four-time Slam winner Jannik Sinner and 2021 Wimbledon runner-up Matteo Berrettini as recent Italian major finalists.
Mensik has moved 15 places to seventh (1,855 points) in the Live Race after advancing to his first major semi-final at Roland Garros. The Czech earned five-set wins against Mariano Navone and Andrey Rublev, while he also moved past seeds Alex de Minaur and Joao Fonseca in the French capital.
Felix Auger-Aliassime reached the semi-finals at the Nitto ATP Finals last year and will be seeking a return to Turin this season. The Canadian is up four places to ninth (1,675 points) after reaching the last eight at Roland Garros. Rafael Jodar, another quarter-finalist in Paris, is 12th (1,569 points). The 19-year-old Spaniard lifted his maiden tour-level trophy earlier this season in Marrakech and enjoyed a semi-final showing at the ATP 500 in Barcelona. Arthur Fils remains in the Top 8 despite not playing at Roland Garros due to injury.
The 2026 Nitto ATP Finals takes place from 15-22 November. Three (Cobolli, Mensik, Fils) of the current Top 8 have not competed at the year-end event in the past.
