Sinner first player to qualify for 2026 Nitto ATP Finals
Jannik Sinner became the first player to qualify for the 2026 Nitto ATP Finals on Friday, when he advanced to the Wimbledon final with a semi-final victory against Novak Djokovic.
The No. 1 player in the PIF ATP Rankings, Sinner will be back at the prestigious season finale from 15-22 November at Inalpi Arena in Turin, where he is the two-time defending champion. The Italian will make his fourth consecutive appearance at the Nitto ATP Finals, and fifth overall.
Sinner has won all five ATP Masters 1000 titles this season to cement his place as the first-placed player in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin. The 24-year-old also earned a 30-match winning streak, during which the Italian joined Djokovic as the only men to complete the Career Golden Masters (winning all nine Masters 1000 titles).
Heading into the Wimbledon final on Sunday, Sinner owns a 43-3 record in 2026, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.
Sinner has won his past 10 matches at the Nitto ATP Finals without dropping a set, becoming the first player in history to win consecutive titles at the season finale with a perfect record. Last year in Turin, Sinner successfully defended his title by defeating his great Lexus ATP Head2Head rival Carlos Alcaraz in the final.
This year, Sinner reached the semi-finals at the Australian Open, where he fell to Djokovic in five sets and then lost to Jakub Mensik in the Doha quarter-finals.
The Italian then won 30 consecutive matches — including five titles — from March through May before a shock second-round defeat to Juan Manuel Cerundolo at Roland Garros.
Sinner has, however, bounced back nicely at Wimbledon, where he is aiming to win his second consecutive title at the grass-court major.
Sinner made his Nitto ATP Finals debut in 2021 as an alternate, when he replaced countryman Matteo Berrettini, pushed Daniil Medvedev to a final-set tie-break and defeated Hubert Hurkacz. He owns a 15-2 overall record at the season finale.
