Read below how the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin is shaking up

Arthur Fils and Frances Tiafoe made significant strides towards a debut appearance at the Nitto ATP Finals following their respective runs at the Cincinnati Open last week.

While Fils overcame Tiafoe in a three-set final at the ATP Masters 1000 event, both players made big gains in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin. Fils, who defeated three Top-20 opponents en route to the biggest title of his career in Ohio, surged eight places to fifth in the Live Race.

The 22-year-old Fils returned from an eight-month injury layoff in February and has since compiled a 32-10 record, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index. The Frenchman has 3,140 points in the Live Race, 330 fewer than fourth-placed Flavio Cobolli.

Tiafoe, who was appearing in the Cincinnati final for the second time, also climbed eight places and now sits eighth in the Live Race with 2,530 points, just 50 behind seventh-placed Daniil Medvedev. The American Tiafoe, who is also pursuing his first appearance at the season finale, picked up three Top-20 wins on his way to the final.

Cobolli reached the semi-finals in Cincinnati, where he fell to Fils, but remains in strong contention to qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals. The Roland Garros runner-up has climbed one place to fourth in the Live Race with 3,430 points, 220 behind third-placed Carlos Alcaraz.

Although Ben Shelton fell to qualifier Jaime Faria in his Cincinnati opener, the American remains sixth in the Live Race and is firmly in contention to reach the season finale for a second consecutive year after making his debut in 2025. Shelton, who triumphed in Montreal two weeks ago, is 550 points clear of Medvedev, who lost to in-form Brandon Nakashima in the third round in Cincinnati.

Rafael Jodar, who is enjoying a breakthrough season on the ATP Tour, also remains firmly in the hunt for a debut spot in Turin. The 19-year-old Spaniard, who reached the Washington final, the Montreal semi-finals and the fourth round in Cincinnati, is ninth in the Live Race, just 31 points behind Tiafoe.

Taylor Fritz reached the quarter-finals in Cincinnati and moved up one place to 10th in the Live Race. The American made the title match at the Nitto ATP Finals in 2024 and is aiming to qualify for the season finale for a third consecutive year.

Novak Djokovic (11th on 2,320 points), Felix Auger-Aliassime (12th on 2,315) and Alex de Minaur (13th on 2,310) all remain in contention and will look to strengthen their Nitto ATP Finals hopes at the US Open, which begins Sunday in New York.
