Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury first qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals in 2019 (round robin), advanced to the semi-finals at the season finale in 2020, made the championship match in 2021 and lifted the trophy in 2022 as undefeated champions.

The five-time Nitto ATP Finals qualifiers won the US Open title, their third consecutive triumph at the season's final major. The American-British duo also reached an ATP Masters 1000 final in Toronto and earned a crown in Lyon.

The defending champions own a 12-5 record together at the year-end championships. Ram also partnered Raven Klaasen to the 2016 title match at The O2 in London.
